Step 4: Labeling Instructions

Here at Reel 2 Reel 2 CD we started out focusing on great analog to digital transfers and gave very little thought to the label we printed on our CDs. But over the years we have found that the clients find the label important to them. So we have aligned our values to match and offer a variety of labeling options.

Blank: This option is only for those who have a way of printing the labels them selves. You would need a printer that prints printable CDs. You could also write on the CDs surface with a marker. There is no extra charge for blank CDs.

Text: This method employs your text on a white background. Simply include on your order-form what you want your CDs to read and we will have it tastefully printed onto the CD. For example: "Christmas 1966" or "Audio Letter From Chuck While In Vietnam". We do ask that you keep it under 50 words. No extra cost for this method.

The Reel: The graphic to the right shows a 3" reel used to print the label.Click for larger view This technique is a great way to preserve not just the audio but the visual look of the tape. Your tape's will be scanned so every mark or lettering would be on the CD. This is also a great way to keep track of what CD comes from what tape. No extra cost for this method.

The Box: The box iClick for larger views similar to the reel but instead of using the reel we scan the box the tape came to us in. This method is great if loved ones hand writing is on the outside of the box. As the example on this page shows, this method can produce very colorful CDs. If you do choose this method please let us know what side of the box you would like scanned. No extra cost for this method.

Your Photo: This option allows you to send us a photo to be used as the CD label. But keep in mind there is a big hole in the middle of the CD so not all photos work well. The photo to the right is a great example of a photo that worked out pretty good because of the placement of the subjects, but the one below shows how a photo that, because of the position of the subject in relation with the hole had to have some creative scanning done to work out. Keep this in mind when selecting your photograph. We will return your photo un-harmed with your tapes and new CDs. Additionally a small amount of text can be included on the photo if you desire. Just let us know on your order form or on a separate sheet of paper.
There is a $10 extra charge for each different photo used.

If you still have a question or problem with the labels please contact us by email at info@reel2reel2cd.com or toll free 1-800-617-8273 10am to 7pm  EST or leave a message anytime.
